I am funding this project myself, investing >$5,000 of my own money and equipment, as well as over $50,000 of time relative to competitive local and national market production rates for my industry. (I have a budget breakdown to share upon request for transparency.) I am hoping to raise $15,000-$25,000 in the next few weeks to cover basic travel expenses and barebones gear rentals/costs so that I can follow Don on his July trip in Europe as affordably as possible, while at the same time fighting to make sure that we do Don, Memphis, and this project justice. I have to make budget compromises every day, on every project, but I’m not going to compromise on capturing and sharing Don’s performances, travels, and story, even if it means sleeping in an alley behind the jazz festival in Morocco.

Donations can be checks made out to my company “thefilmjerk media llc” or via paypal at the link below.

Being a filmmaker in Memphis means knowing how to make projects look incredible without all of the luxuries of Hollywood-size productions. It means working with what you have. It means working on projects you believe in. It means treating people with respect. It means helping your peers when you can on the projects they believe in, whether they have money to pay you or not. I will always take pride in these elements of being a creative in Memphis, and I believe that it makes people who do what we do here uniquely talented in a way that stands out from many projects from larger cities. Please feel free to reach out to any individuals, companies, clients, filmmakers, etc., that I have worked with in town and ask them about me. I would genuinely be glad to connect you, and it means the world to get your time and consideration.

From the bottom of my heart, from Don and the band, and the Memphis music family…thank you for even considering helping this project. Every cent will be 100% transparently and rigorously accounted for, and donors will receive quarterly updates to that end. Right now, anyone who donates will get my love and respect through the end of time, credited and thanked in the film, or whatever else I can make happen to show my appreciation for your support. Any amount you can give will be incredibly helpful, and I will be available 24/7 to answer questions or address concerns.

Humbly and gratefully,
